The purpose of this practice brief is to provide an overview of key actions and resources leadership teams use to prepare for and effectively support families across phases of recovery following a major crisis incident. We define a crisis incident as a serious event (e.g., school shooting, natural disaster) that substantially disrupts the learning environment.
